Assistant Dean for Career Development
Shannon Grandy Larsen joined BYU Law School’s administration in 2019. In her current role, she teaches students and cultivates employer relationships as the Law School’s chief career development officer. Before coming to BYU Law, Dean Grandy Larsen practiced law in New Jersey for eight years at a small law firm, where she headed the firm’s workers’ compensation practice. She also represented clients in misdemeanor criminal cases and served as a court-appointed attorney for alleged incapacitated persons in guardianship cases in New Jersey courts.
Dean Grandy Larsen graduated magna cum laude from BYU Law School in 2011. During law school she interned in Washington, DC, at the US Department of Justice and with the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. In 2008 she obtained a BS from BYU in Marriage Family and Human Development with a minor in Spanish. In her undergraduate program she completed study abroad programs in Madrid, Spain, and Guadalajara, Mexico. Throughout her career she has taken particular interest in representing Spanish-speaking individuals.
Dean Grandy Larsen was born and raised in Midland, Texas, where religion, high school football, and oil fields reign supreme. A true Texan, her favorite food is steak, and she is constantly on the hunt for the best chips & salsa (and guac!). She enjoys hiking, photography, writing, international travel, and adventuring with her family. She and her husband, Creed, were married in 2022, and together they are the parents of six daughters and one son, ages 8–17. Blending families has her on a steep, beautiful, and exciting learning curve.
