Am I eligible for the Ex Gratia Funds
Under the AAHP Collective Agreement the following classifications are eligible to receive the Ex Gratia Funds - as these are the classiciations that received Pay Equity:
Pharmacists
Respiratory Therapists
Speech Language Pathologists
Psychologists
Psychometrists
In order to qualify for the Ex Gratia Funds a person would have had to be in the union, in one of the above classifications between 1988 and 1991.
If you were a member of another union in another classification during that time, you should contact the union you would have been in between 1988 and 1991.

Labour Relations Board - Jursidication Issue
As you may be aware, employers from Eastern, Central and Western Health have submitted applications to to the Labour Relations Board asking for one bargaining agent to represent health professionals under each of the boards. Currently, health professionals are represented by AAHP in the institutions and nursing homes and under NAPE in the community.
We are working closely with our lawyer, Jack Harris in addressing this matter. Briefs from all parties are being prepared to be presented to the Labour Relations Board.
Western - This application has been heard. A vote was held June 7,8 & 9, 2008. The results of these votes will not be known until sometime in July as there is a dispute involving one ballot and whether or not it is eligible to be included. It is AAHP's position that it should.
Central & Eastern - We do not expect the Labour Relations Board to hear the merits of these applications until some time in the Fall of 2008.
We will be meeting with members throughout the regions affected. Members can contact AAHP office at any time for information concerning these applications. Regular updates will also be posted to our website.
We are counting on your support in this critical time for AAHP. Remember we are Allied Health / Allied Voices. Health professionals representing health professionals.
