Getting Involved with Your Union! Committee anyone!!! 2004/11/21 As with any union, decisions are not made by one person. Generally, committees are set up that meet as necessary and present reports to the Executive and Board of Directors with recommendations on a particular course of action. The following is list of committees presently established under AAHP. Education Committee - meets at least 3 times a year to conduct Education Draw. Meets as necessary (once every two years) to review guidelines etc. No vacancies at this time, however, we would like to keep list of interested persons. Finance Committee - role to review and recommend investment strategy. Prepare budget, oversee financial affairs of the Association. Chaired by Treasurer. New members needed Human Resources - mandate to review salary and working conditions of staff and make recommendations to the Executive. 1st Vice President is Chair. No regular meetings scheduled at this time. Public Relations - mandate to plan public relations strategy particularly long term. Committee is presently inactive. New members needed including Chairperson. Policy Committee - inactive at present. Purpose to review policies of the AAHP and update and recommend revision where necessary. Goal to update AAHP Policy manual.  If you are interested in participating on any of the AAHP Committees listed above please contact Sharon at AAHP Office for more information or to register your name. In addition to these internal AAHP Committees, you may be interested in participating on your local Labour Management Committee or your site Occupational Health & Safety Committee. If so, contact your on-site representative.
